The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the arrival of Elgin Pearce for our 20th anniversary season.
The 27 year old forward joins from the Dundee Stars after signing for the Scottish side during the off-season from the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. Pearce will be available to play from this Saturday’s Elite League clash in Belfast against the Cardiff Devils.
The Canadian, who will wear #15 for the Giants, has posted 12 goals and 13 assists, good for 25 points in 33 games played in the Elite League so far this season.
Pearce impressed during his four years with the University of Calgary – posting almost a point per game with 50 goals and 47 assists, good for 97 points in 98 games played.
In his final season in 2016/17 Pearce was named on the first all-star team and awarded ‘Most Valuable Player’ in USports West. The forward also won the R.W. Pugh Award for Most Sportsmanlike Player in three consecutive seasons.
The 6’1” forward split 2017/18 with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose and the Jacksonville IceMen of the ECHL. Pearce posted 24 goals and 28 assists, good for 37 points in 68 games played.
The native of British Columbia started 2018/19 with the AHL’s Texas Stars before joining the Steelheads where he recorded 20 goals and 20 assists, good for 40 points in 58 games played.

“When I am playing gritty and with an edge – I play my best hockey. I am always look to spark either myself or my teammates with my game. I am looking to come in and show my offensive game and help put pucks in the back of the net.”
