To celebrate International Coffee Day, The Copeland Distillery based in Donaghadee County Down has shared their spin on the classic favourite, the ‘Old Fashioned’ which is simple and easy to make at home and is sure to shake things up.

The Copeland Cold Brew Fashioned features The Distillery’s all new 22% ABV Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur which was officially launched just four weeks ago at the beginning of September.

Before becoming a permanent in the Distillery’s range, the coffee liqueur was first trialled during the end of 2022 when 300 bottles were released as limited edition. Having been awarded a silver award at the International Spirits Challenge 2023, the Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur showcases the finest Brazilian coffee beans which are expertly brewed before being compounded with an organic grain spirit and infused with cacao nibs. The result is a luxuriously smooth mouthfeel and memorable tasting experience with notes of melted dark chocolate, vanilla sweetness, and warm nuttiness.

Ingredients

• 30 ml Whiskey

• 30 ml Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

• Double dash orange bitters

• Orange peel to garnish

Method

• Firstly, pour all the ingredients, except the garnish, into a mixing glass

• Next, fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir gently

• Strain the drink into an old fashioned glass and add ice

• To garnish, add an orange peel on top. Serve and enjoy.
