The Stena Line Belfast Giants have confirmed the return of star forward Craig Peacock for the 2015/16 Elite League season. Peacock, a player who has been instrumental in the organisation’s success in recent years, will make it seven seasons with the Giants when the new season begins in September.
Since joining the Giants in 2009 from the Peterborough Phantoms, the 26 year old forward has played 367 games for the organisation and has won three major championships with the Giants – the 2010 Playoffs and the Elite League titles in both 2012 & 2014.
Peacock, the Giants top goalscorer for the 2014/15 Elite League season, currently lies in third position in the organisation’s all-time leading goal scoring charts, two goals behind George Awada’s total of 149 goals and 15 behind teammate and first-placed Colin Shields.
Steve Thornton, Head of Hockey Operations, on the signing of the player he first brought to Belfast in 2009,
“I signed Craig Peacock when he was just 23 and he has become one of the top British players in the Elite League. He has been a part of some big moments in Giants history, including the 2010 Playoff championship as well we league titles in 2012 and 2014.”
“I am excited to have Craig back in Belfast for another season – he is a natural goalscorer and I know the fans in Belfast will be pleased to have him return for another season.”
