Beaujolais Nouveau is a fruity, very young red wine that is released for sale every year on the third Thursday of November on the stroke of midnight. The uncorking of the bottles in France is marked by parties, fireworks and other festivities.
The wine is made from ban picked Gamay grapes from the Beaujolais region. The wine’s easy drink ability is due to a process called carbonic maceration, or whole berry fermentation, which allows the juice to be exact red from the grapes with a minimum of tannins.
Over half the wine is consumed in France! but other big markets include Japan, Germany, USA and now La Bastille Restaurant on the lisburn road….
Anyone who contacts La Bastille Restaurant to book a table this weekend will be entered into a draw to win a bottle of this gorgeous wine with their meal.
Reservation can be for any time in November or December.
