Pictured at the Christmas Trolley Dash in Lidl High Street is Niall Wallace, who was one of the lucky 37 winners of the Lidl Trolley Dash, which took place Saturday 12th December in every Lidl store across Lidl Northern Ireland. As well as winning their Christmas shopping for free (the average of goods won per person totalled £250), each winner also contributed to the whopping £68,806 which was raised from ticket sales in just 2 short weeks in aid of Lidl’s charity partner, CLIC Sargent. A total of £14,424 was raised in Belfast alone.
Speaking about Lidl’s Christmas trolley dash, Sinead Flynn, CSR assistant with Lidl Northern Ireland, said: “We are thrilled with the result of our Christmas fundraising initiatives for our Charity partner CLIC Sargent. In four short weeks, Lidl stores across the province have raised over €68,000 from one initiative alone. We would like to thank all of our customers who have supported CLIC Sargent this Christmas and look forward to ramping up our activities in 2016 to raise even more much needed funds for the charity.”
Speaking about Lidl’s Christmas fundraising activity, Nadine Campbell, Area Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, said: “We are delighted with Lidl’s fundraising activities in the run up to Christmas. The Trolley Dash alone has raised £68,806, which is a phenomenal amount of money. These vital funds will go a long way to helping with the costs of keeping our Home from Home’s in Belfast open as a free service to families who need to stay with their children during treatment. Thank you to all those who bought a ticket in support of CLIC Sargent.”
