Dust off the Christmas Jumper, it’s time to get All Wrapped Up for kids with cancer

Cancer Fund for Children is urging local people to dust off their Christmas jumpers and get into the Christmas spirit this December by taking part in their festive jumper day campaign, All Wrapped Up.

The local children’s cancer charity is encouraging businesses, schools, clubs and community groups from across Northern Ireland to get together in their cosiest, cheesiest and most outrageous Christmas jumpers, to support families devastated by cancer this Christmas.

Matthew Allen, Corporate Fundraiser, Cancer Fund for Children, said:

“Christmas is a time for joy and happiness for many but for families living with a cancer diagnosis it can also be a very stressful and isolating time. Children can spend long periods of time out of school and away from friends and class mates during treatment.  They are often unable to attend festive events like grottos and pantomimes due to the risk of infection.  For parents the emotional impact of their child’s cancer diagnosis can place a huge strain on relationships, whilst financial pressure from increased heating bills and travel costs take a toll.

“At Cancer Fund for Children our mission is to support families so they don’t have to face cancer alone.  We do this by providing practical, financial and emotional support as well as free short breaks to help families cope with the impact cancer has on their live.  But we can’t do this without your support!  Cancer Fund for Children receives less than 0.5% of our income from Government funding which is why we’re urging everyone to get All Wrapped Up this Christmas.  By pulling on your best Christmas jumpers and joining in the fun you can make real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer across Northern Ireland.  Register now to receive your free fundraising pack which is full of hints, tips, and quizzes to add to the festive cheer.”
