Rushmere at Christmas
The magic of Christmas comes to Craigavon next month, with the arrival of Santa Claus and the iconic annual lights switch-on event at Rushmere Shopping Centre on Thursday 8th November 2018. Ella McKnight (7) helped Santa transform Rushmere into a Winter wonderland ahead of his arrival at 6.00pm on the 8th when he will be joined by special guests Buddy the Elf and the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Cllr Julie Flaherty. Fans of the festive season will enjoy chocolate lollies given out by Santa while he meets and greets families, children and the young at heart of all ages before officially announcing the start of Christmas by pushing the big red button and switching on the centre’s lights for the season. Santa can then be visited in his Snow House until Christmas Eve before beginning his 510,000,000km journey around the world delivering presents for Christmas morning. Children are invited to post their letters in the big red post box at the gate of his Snow House to make sure Santa’s elves don’t miss any special requests. “I am delighted to invite everyone to Rushmere Shopping Centre on Thursday 8th November for the official lighting of the centre for Christmas 2018. The atmosphere is always magical with the centre being illuminated with thousands of lights.

‘We are excited about welcoming Santa back to Rushmere and the light switch on is always a fantastic community event.

“For those who can’t make it on the night, our grotto opening hours will be available on our website and social media. We hope to see Santa’s Snow House grotto the busiest it has ever been this year.”
