Restaurant Review: Buskers – a delightfully quirky hidden gem.

Previously Beatrice Kennedy,  Buskers is a new musically influenced restaurant in the Queens University area of Belfast serving a wide range of high quality food.

I visited here on a Wednesday night, it was the first time I had been and certainly won’t be the last! As soon as you enter the establishment you know it is going to be good, the smells coming from the kitchen were divine! The staff were incredibly welcoming, they were attentive throughout without being too overbearing.  The menu is small but covers a wide variety so there is something on it for everyone.

For my started I had Crispy Duck Salad. The duck salad here is just fabulous. You get a mountain of crispy duck placed onto some salad and then drizzled in hoisin sauce. Devine!

The Chicken wings was a good sized portion and had a nice sweet sticky sauce.

As for my main I’m a long time fan of burgers . When you are craving a real burger, a juicy burger and one of some size this is the place you want to be. My beef burger, was exactly as I expected – perfectly cooked and required no additional sauce or seasoning for flavours.

The Scampi was yummy however the portion size for this main could be improved. I wasn’t going to have a dessert but when I read on the menu “DESSERTS IS STRESSED SPELLED BACKWARDS …. JUST SAYING”. I was easily persuaded.

We finished our evening with a chocolate “pave” dessert . The soft texture of the pave…. and my favourites cherries on top perfectly served as a sweet ending to a great evening.

Great food, great ambience, very pleasant staff and it is obvious the owner also loves his music.
