Boojum Now On A Shelf Near You! – The Biggest Drop of 2021, Already!?

Boojum

Boojum addicts, this is not a drill! You can now get your fix of those famous Boojum flavours right across NI as Belfast’s best loved burrito bar has launched a brand-new range of ready meals in partnership with the Henderson Group.

Hitting shelves today, 20th January, each ready meal is priced at £4.30/£4.50 or a tasty two for £8 and will be available to buy from select SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO and ViVOXTRA stores.

Prepared fresh daily by Boojum’s own chefs, using the exact same high-quality ingredients, seasonings and spices used in Boojum’s restaurants, you can choose between a rich, spicy beef chilli made with 100% Northern Irish beef or a smoky, saucy three-bean chilli that’s ideal for vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians.

Both ready meals come served with a side of fluffy basmati rice and are high in protein, low in fat, and under 500 calories. Simply pick up in-store, ping it in the microwave and enjoy the perfect way to spice up a busy lunchtime or weeknight meal in just five minutes – totally guilt free!

BoojumDespite a challenging 2021 for all businesses, with hospitality being particularly hard hit by COVID restrictions, the idea for the new Boojum ready meal range evolved from the brand’s response to the pandemic.

In April 2020, Boojum partnered with food charity FareShare NI to provide over 15,000 ready meals to local community groups and organisations across the country during the initial onset of the COVID-19 outbreak.

David Maxwell, Boojum Managing Director, said: “At the time we were focused on doing everything we could to support our teams and our communities. The feedback we received on the meals we provided was phenomenal, and so it planted the idea that this was something we could also bring to the wider NI market.

“With a little creativity and innovation – and the help of a fantastic partner like Hendersons – our new ready meal range was born.

“Partnering with such an established name in the NI retail sector means that we’re able to bring the exact taste of our restaurants to customers outside of Belfast. Even if you’re not currently able to make it to a Boojum restaurant, you’re likely only a few minutes’ walk or drive away from your local SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO or ViVOXTRA.”

Maxwell added: “Our Boojum At Home online meal kit range has been a massive success for us since it was launched last July, but we’re also keenly aware that plenty of people will want something that they can just grab and go. We’re delighted that you can now enjoy the exact same tastes and ingredients that put our restaurants on the map, nearly as quickly as our staff can roll your burrito in store!”

If the queues out the doors to their restaurants is anything to go by, it looks like ‘Boojum’ is about to become a new favourite on plenty of people’s shopping lists.
