New Kids on the Bloc

Magherafelt manufacturer, Bloc Blinds, has firmly established its footprint in the retail market with the launch of its new flagship Design Studio on the Lisburn Road, Belfast.

The direct move into the retail sector has created 6 new jobs across Sales, Production, Research and Development and Marketing for the fast-growing company, which currently employs over 100 staff at its state-of-the-art manufacturing headquarters in Magherafelt.

Established in 2006, Bloc Blinds has become one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of innovative blinds and skylight systems. It has online customers across the world and, since 2014, its products have been sold in John Lewis stores across the UK.

The new two storey Lisburn Road Design Studio is an exciting showcase of Bloc Blinds wide range of award-winning products, as well as providing customers with a bespoke in-home Design Consultation and a professional Measure and Fit service.

Cormac Diamond, Managing Director of Bloc Blinds, said: “This investment follows tremendous business growth in recent years and follows hot on the heels of our £4million expansion, which saw us double our workforce and move into state-of-the-art manufacturing premises in Magherafelt.”

“This has given us the confidence to expand our operation and make our move onto the high street, first with a trial store in our hometown of Magherafelt and now our flagship store on Belfast’s Lisburn Road.”

Bloc Blinds rapid growth across the UK, Ireland and Europe has been built on its reputation for designing and manufacturing a range of innovative and award-winning products.

The multi-award-winning and patented BlocOut™ is perfect for babies’ nurseries, children’s bedrooms or light sensitive sleepers of any age; the unique ‘Fabric Changer’ Roller Blind allows you to switch your blind fabric to suit the season, interiors trends or even the weather.

The made to measure Skylight Blinds work with virtually any skylight brand available and the Easifit Roller Blind is a bracket-less solution which requires no power tools or DIY know-how.

Cormac continues: “We are a company led by innovation; because we do things differently. It’s great to have a Design Studio that allows us to get in front of our customers to explain our range of award-winning products and their benefits and give them a tailor-made solution.

“This is an exciting period of growth for Bloc Blinds as we continue to invest in Bloc Blinds as a brand. We have an exciting new fabric collection in the pipeline for early 2018, as well as extending our number of Designer fabric collections to include a Van Gogh museum affiliation.”
