In an incident that is sure to add more fuel to the fire of Belfast’s tense relations, a Twelfth band found themselves on the receiving end of a flying bin.
The incident took place in the Holyland area on Tuesday morning, with videos emerging on social media of the event. In the footage, a male can be seen exiting a house believed to be in the Rugby Road area and throwing a bin at the passing band.
Several members of the band can then be seen inside the garden of the property, with one of the band members throwing what appears to be a wheely bin at the front window. The PSNI officers on the scene and other members of the band then appear to usher those involved away from the property. The band filmed in the video is understood to be Bangor Protestant Boys.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, though we can’t say the same for the bin, who was later taken away by the PSNI
