Belfast goes Pop!

  • ·         Cool FM Jingle Ball 2013 brings top pop talent to Belfast
  • ·         Surprise first NI appearance of pop supergroup ‘McBusted’

Belfast’s Odyssey Arena was rocked by over 8,000 screaming pop fans last night as Cool FM’s one night pop extravaganza ‘Jingle Ball’ rolled into town with a roster including some of the hottest pop acts in the UK. Headliners McFly took to the stage to deafening screams from the crowd in the largest multi-act pop concert Belfast has ever seen.

Mark Mahaffy, Managing Director of Cool FM said, “Last night was an amazing show from all of the acts, from up and coming boybands like The Vamps to big stadium fillers like McFly – every act brought the house down.”

The arena was also abuzz when two unexpected guests joined headliners McFly on stage – Matt Willis and James Bourne from Busted dropped by to support their old tour partners and raised the decibel level even further. The surprise appearance was the first time the full line-up of recently announced pop supergroup ‘McBusted’ have appeared together in Northern Ireland.

Cool FM brought the Jingle Ball to Belfast for the first time in 2012 and this year demand for tickets started early. The station announced a special pre-sale allocation of 1000 tickets in October which sold out immediately, despite only one act being confirmed.

“It was great to see the pre-sale tickets selling out so quickly – it just proved how much fun everyone had at Jingle Ball 2012,” added Mark Mahaffy. “And as a result, we’re releasing a limited allocation of pre-sale tickets for Jingle Ball 2014 this morning!”

Jingle Ball 2014 is scheduled to take place at the Odyssey Arena on December 8th, 2014 – anyone wishing to be one of the first with next year’s hottest ticket in town can buy online at coolfm.co.uk
