Belfast Giants’ Josh Roach scores against Manchester Storm during Saturday nights Elite Ice Hockey League game at the SSE Arena, Belfast.

The Stena Line Belfast Giants responded well to Friday’s shootout defeat with a 4-0 home victory over the Manchester Storm to post a three point weekend.

A shutout from Tyler Beskorowany and goals from Pat Dwyer, Dustin Johner, David Rutherford and Josh Roach saw the Giants maintain top spot in the Elite League standings.

Tyler Beskorowany started in the Belfast net as Hunter Bishop returned to the lineup following suspension with Colin Shields, Guillaume Gelinas, Paul Swindlehurst, Matt Towe and Andrew Dickson missing for the Giants.

Dwyer Opens Storm Scoring

The Giants broke the deadlock at 9:15 when Pat Dwyer finished off a sweeping Giants move after Kyle Baun picked out the forward right in front of the Storm net.

Dustin Doubles Giants Lead

Dustin Johner doubled the hosts’ lead midway through the game when he fired high past Manchester Matt Ginn at 30:33.

Belfast See Off Storm With Final Period Double

David Rutherford scored the Giants third goal with a classy unassisted finish at 43:22.

Josh Roach added a fourth with a power play strike at 45:45, assisted by Kyle Baun.
