The Belfast Giants delivered a statement performance at The SSE Arena on Sunday night, powering to an emphatic 7–0 win over the Dundee Stars to complete a perfect four-point weekend in front of the home faithful.

Fast Start Sets The Tone

It took the Giants just 31 seconds to light the lamp. Scott Conway reacted quickest to bury the rebound after Mike Lee’s initial effort was stopped, instantly igniting the Belfast crowd.

The pressure didn’t let up. Gabe Bast went close before Lee doubled the advantage with a thunderous finish from the right circle, giving the hosts full control early in the opening period.

Adam Keefe’s side were flying, and the Stars simply couldn’t live with the pace. Jake Kupsky was largely a spectator at the other end, while Belfast kept pushing forward. Their dominance paid off again before the break when Jordan Kawaguchi capitalised on a rebound from Ben Lake’s effort to make it 3–0 heading into the first intermission.

Giants Stay In Control

Dundee tried to respond early in the second, but Kupsky stood firm when called upon. Belfast soon reasserted their authority, creating wave after wave of chances.

After killing off a penalty, the Giants struck again almost immediately. Ciaran Long teed up Carsen Twarynski, who rifled home clinically to extend the lead to four.

The visitors had a brief powerplay opportunity later in the period, but Belfast’s penalty kill remained rock solid, preserving the commanding advantage heading into the final frame.

Ruthless Finish From Belfast

The third period followed a familiar pattern with the Giants continuing to dictate play.

JJ Piccinich was denied from the penalty shot spot, but Belfast weren’t finished. Karl Boudrias added a fifth with a tidy backhand finish, before Twarynski grabbed his second of the night by tipping home Garrett McFadden’s effort.

To cap off a near-perfect evening, Conway book-ended the scoring late on, finishing smartly from close range to seal a dominant 7–0 victory.

It was also a night to remember for Jake Kupsky, who recorded his first shutout in Giants colours with a composed performance between the pipes.

The Belfast Giants return to The SSE Arena this Friday night as the Sheffield Steelers come to town. Tickets are moving quickly for what promises to be another big night in Belfast.
