Keen to bring some festive cheer to the end of what has been a challenging year for many, BCM (Belfast Central Mission) issued a rallying cry to its staff network across Northern Ireland to meet the challenge of putting together something festive and fun this Christmas for the charity’s supporters, followers, friends and families to enjoy.
BCM is a charitable organisation with 150+ staff and nearly 20 projects spread across the country working with older and younger people, families, young parents and children. The majority of these have either been working from home or remotely since March with their delivery of social care to communities and individuals never compromised for those who rely on it.
Having also recently completed the distribution of 3,500+ toy and gift parcels to families across Belfast and further afield as part of its 2020 Christmas Appeal, there was no better time to unite as a team with colleagues – and friends! – that may not have connected for months on end.
While it may be the most played song between September and January, BCM chose Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ to enthusiastically mime and dance along to*. With the majority of BCM’s projects represented in this short video, we think you’ll agree it brings a smile to every face – even those that may have taken some persuading!
In 2019, BCM celebrated 130 years of working with the vulnerable and in need and has operated out of the same location in Belfast city centre for more than a century.
Providing a mix of social care and social enterprise for all ages from children to care of the elderly, BCM encompasses everything from supported housing, floating support, community services, befriending and much more. If you would like to learn more about the work BCM does in communities all over Northern Ireland, please visit www.belfastcentralmission.org, where you will also find opportunity to support its work, if you are able to and wish to.
Thank you for watching and a Merry Christmas to everyone from all at BCM.
