The Beannchor Group has announced a £400.000 investment in its popular Sixty6 nightclub in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.

The sprawling four-floor complex, which sits atop sister venue, The National on High Street, will undergo a significant refurbishment that will enhance the guest experience with elevated aesthetics, state-of-the-art sound systems and high-end interiors.

The club, which first opened alongside The National in 2013, has been a much-loved fixture in the city’s nightlife scene for the last decade. Following a refresh of The National’s popular ground level bar and restaurant in 2019, Sixty6 will now undergo a significant renovation, to elevate its offering in line with changing consumer trends.

Revamped interiors with an eclectic design scheme featuring rich ruby red tones, deep woods, plush fabrics and moody lighting will create sophisticated spaces to traverse and explore.

On the first floor, the Lounge will exude laid back elegance, acting as a gateway to the club; a starting point for casual drinks , or as an end point to chill out at the end of the night.

On the second and third floors, the tempo moves up a gear, with a new programme of DJ-led entertainment spanning both levels from 10pm-3am every weekend, with DJs playing everything from old-school beats to R&B classics and club anthems.

And on the fourth floor, a refreshed roof terrace will provide a secluded spot for quiet moments overlooking the city lights.

A sensitive restoration of the building’s iconic façade is also under way, ensuring the historic frontage of the former National Bank Building will be protected for generations to come.

Commenting on the announcement, Conall Wolsey, director, Beannchor said: “The vision across all our establishments has always been to provide unique, exciting, and exceptional experiences. To do this, ongoing innovation and investment is essential to ensure our offering continues to exceed our customers’ expectations.

“This significant refurbishment will greatly improve the customer journey through the venue, whilst great care has been taken to curate an entertainment roster that will appeal to an increasingly discerning clientele.”

Beannchor is Northern Ireland’s leading hospitality group, with a diverse portfolio of hotels, bars, restaurants and night clubs including the award-winning Merchant Hotel, Bullitt Belfast, Little Wing Pizzeria, The National, Sixty6 and The Dirty Onion

Renovation work is currently under way, with the new look Sixty6 set to open to the public at 10pm on Friday 1st March. Join the guestlist for Sixty6 on Glistrr.

Meanwhile it’s business as usual downstairs at The National, with food and drink served daily from 10am-4pm, and DJs from 9pm to late, Thursday to Saturday.
