The Uberheroes® Act of Kindness Awards are launched with the 4th year of our Awards taking place on Saturday 23rd March 2024 at La Mon Hotel & Country Club.

Hope 4 Life NI is a local mental health charity delivering early intervention programmes across the province including the innovative ‘Uberheroes®’ comic, based on true stories of real young people’s lived experiences of mental illness in Northern Ireland.
The Uberheroes® Kindness Awards were created in 2021 as a virtual event whilst the world was still experiencing lockdown and the pandemic, thiscelebration is for those local children who have demonstrated acts of kindness to others. In March 2022, the first, in person, Awards ceremony was held with over 300 guests, with a celebration evening that was inspirational, emotional, uplifting and overwhelmingly enjoyed by all. This has been repeated over the past few years with guests and sponsors saying this event gets better each year.

“The Uberheroes® Kindness Awards were created because of the wonderful acts of Kindness shown to neighbours, key workers, the elderly etc. by the children and young people we met during our Uberheroes® Workshops in Sept – Dec 2020. The reactions from the finalists, their parents and the schools was so overwhelmingly positive that we have had the privilege to run these awards for the past few years. Kindness is such a wonderful characteristic to encourage in anyone but especially in our children. We have 10 categories where a breadth of kindness is able to be nominated and celebrated through our awards ceremony, where the stars of this event aren’t just our celebrity presenters but these 30 amazing children. This ceremony has been so uplifting for everyone in the room especially our finalists and their families, along with our sponsors and invited guests who have said that the awards have been an outstanding and inspirational event for them to be involved in”.
Every year the top 30 finalists are invited to a star-studded awards ceremony, where all the finalists, their families, sponsors and guests were welcomed for their very own red-carpet moment with a professional photographer, drinks reception, 3-course meal, and an awards ceremony, followed by a live band.
There are 10 specific award categories recognising the acts of kindness shown by local children and young people aged between 8 to 16 years of age along with a special surprise award on the evening for an‘Ambassador of Kindness’. Below is a small selection of testimonials from these awards:-

We had the pleasure of attending the Hope 4 Life NI – Uberheroes Acts of Kindness Awards what an evening, Ben won the Fundraising category which has been such an encouragement and additionally motivational for him to have this recognition; helping him to build on his previous campaigns to help more people in the future. ‘Ambassador for kindness” award last year went to Clara–Jane aged 8, Clara was talking about all the people who she wanted to help for the rest of 2023, her Dad said “you should choose one organisation to support and focus on helping them”, Clara’s response was “Daddy, I am an Ambassador for Kindness now, so I am going to make sure that I help other people to show kindness to those in need, I want to lead by example and won’t limit this to one cause as there’s such a need out there” – Her Dad Terry
