A tip of the hat, a wink in your direction. A slick smile and a twirl of the cane. When something has charm, it’s just a natural thing, sugar. AM:PM can tell you all about that: for £28 (a £59 value) just take up its offer of a three-tier afternoon tea for two with bubbly.
Rest assured when you bite into the selection of finger sandwiches on the lower tier — including egg and cress; chicken, rocket, and mayonnaise; smoked salmon, cucumber, and dill; and ham and wholegrain mustard — all the ingredients are fresh and of the utmost quality.
Then move on to the middle tier: freshly baked fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and homemade strawberry preserve.
Save the top tier for last — an assortment of Irish pastries, glazed fruit tartlets, lemon cream filled madeleines, chocolate fondant sponge, short bread, and panacotta.
You’ll be served a glass of Prosecco each, as well as black, green, white, and herbal tea.
Available Monday to Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Nestled on Upper Arthur Street, the neat little eatery packs in the character — you just don’t get suave like this anymore.
