When Will I Be Famous pays homage to the music of the girl and boy bands of pop
Cast members of Action Ability are set to ‘Shine’ in a new stage show at The Grand Opera House next Tuesday, 25 June. The show celebrates the music of the greatest boy and girl bands of pop.
Following the huge success of last year’s showcase, Bohemian Bap City, When Will I Be Famous is a musical tribute to the sounds of the 80s, 90s and Noughties and is sure to ‘Spice Up Your Life’ as it takes you on a roller-coaster ride through the decades of boy bands versus girl groups.
The show will transport theatre-goers back in time with unique characters and an original story-line which will entertain and take you on a journey of laughter and musicality. Join the cast as they breathe new life into the bands that influenced a generation, from Take That to the Spice Girls, East 17 to Girls Aloud and Boyzone.
Irish siblings and X Factor semi-finalists from 2017, Sean and Conor Price, took time out from their busy schedule to pop along to meet the cast of When Will I Be Famous and to offer them tips on performing live and stage presence.
Sean said: “Taking part in the X Factor was an unforgettable experience but we know how nerve-wracking it can be to take to the stage and perform in front of so many people.
“Our advice to Action Ability’s strong cast is to go out there and have fun. Just enjoy every moment. The great thing about being in a band rather than being a solo artist is that there’s always someone else there who has your back.”
Ian Wilson, Chief Executive of the Grand Opera House, said he was looking forward to welcoming the Action Ability team back for their popular annual showcase.
“We are very proud of our partnership with Action Ability and the Grand Opera House is delighted that we can provide the Theatre’s iconic stage to showcase local talent ,” said Ian.
“Last year’s production, Bohemian Bap City, was a sell-out and a great success and I am confident this year’s Action Ability show will be equally as outstanding.”
When Will I Be Famous starts at 7.30pm on June 25 and ticket prices range from £12.25 to £18.25.
In the words of the Spice Girls, ‘Say You’ll Be There’.
