1. Gold Coins

Gold coins are the most high-value coins one can find. According to Forbes Magazine, they were used for large purchases, transactions, and investments, with an estimated $600 million in 1933 alone. Gold is valued at $38 per troy ounce, or around 12 grams (per troy ounce).

Here’s a list of some famous gold coins:

  • The American Gold Eagle bullion coins

Created by Congress in 1986. It contains 91.67% pure gold, making it one of the purest forms available on the market today! There are also proof & uncirculated editions that contain 99.99% fine gold!

  • Krugerrands

These are South African Gold Coins minted since 1967, with only 21 million minted. They’re often minted with a copper ring hidden in the coin, making it look like a 22-karat gold coin, but only worth around $100 at that point instead of thousands!

  • The Double Eagle

It’s one of America’s most prized coins, created by Augustus Saint-Gauden back in 1907 for President Theodore Roosevelt. It was initially valued at $20 and contained over an ounce of pure gold (over 30 grams).

The list goes on! Gold is such a rare & luxurious metal to find, so if you’re looking to purchase gold coins for your investment, it’s advisable to go to a reputable dealer. Going for a legit dealer is the best way to avoid being scammed or overpaying for fake gold.

2. The 1787 Brasher Doubloon

Made by Ephraim Brasher, this coin is known as the first gold doubloon. Although Brasher was a silversmith by profession and not a professional mint-master or engraver, he made 22 of these coins from copper that had been privately cast into molds to look like silver dollars.

The value of this coin is $550,000, and that depends on its condition.

3. The 1792 Half Disme

The US Mint made these coins for only a short time, but it is one of the most sought-after coins because Washington was on them. The name ‘disme’ comes from an old French word meaning tenth part, which is what these coins were valued at when they were first issued.

The history behind this coin is that Thomas Jefferson wanted to make a decimal system for currency in the US. However, the US Mint didn’t have enough silver for this to happen. So, they made copper coins that were worth half of a dime or tenth part of a dollar.

This coin’s value varies depending on its condition and where you are looking to purchase it from. But if you are buying it from a reputable dealer, they will charge between $250-$300 each.

4. The 1804 Silver Dollar

These silver dollars have become known as “junk” among collectors due to their lack of purity compared to earlier issues. However, there’s still over 100 years worth of history behind them that make them valuable enough for some collectors or investors today.

This 1804 Silver Dollar is a scarce coin. Although many made it, they all went to the royal family in Siam (now Thailand).

This coin’s value can range from $500,000-$700,000 depending on its condition and history (Price Guide For US Coin And Stamp Collectors).

This would also be known as a “King Rama III” silver dollar; it’s named after King Phraphutthayotfa Chulalok, who reigned during that time and was one of the most significant kings in Thai History.

Other examples: One sold for over $550,000 at auction not long ago. Another example with great provenance was purchased by billionaire investor Steve Cohen sometime back for $620,000.

7. The 1343 Edward III Florin

Another one of the most commonly known and collected medieval coins, Edward III Florin, is one of those historical coins with a high value. This coin was produced in 1343 as an English gold coin with a florin denomination. The king at the time who issued this kind of money was King Edward III. There were two types of these kinds of coins; “open crown” type where there are no stops between letters on the legend around EDWARDVS REX ANGL or “closed crown,” which would have stop after each letter within said legends. These open-crowned ones became more famous for their rarity because they were harder to produce, thus leading to many counterfeits being created throughout history.

Modern appraisal values place them anywhere from $4000 up to $20,000 or more for perfect types.

8. The 1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar Coin

Appraised at around $400 to $650 000 USD, the most valuable of all historical coins is none other than an American currency; The United States finest silver dollar coin was produced in 1794 during George Washington’s term as president. One of these kinds of coins would have been considered a family heirloom back then because it had so much value, and this specific kind was scarce. With only 20 known existing pieces intact with their original form, this makes them one of those historical coins worth millions today.

This particular type holds great significance not only on its monetary but historic values too due to how it was produced. Back in 1794, there were no presses, so the coins had to be individually struck with a hammer which would have taken hours for each coin to finish being made. Only one side of these kinds of historical coins carries an actual design, and this is called “Flowing Hair” because it has flowing hair on Washington which appears as both facing right or left depending on the type.

Collecting coins can be a gratifying hobby. It can also be an investment if you are careful about the coins you buy and sell. The idea is to hunt for pieces that will rise in value over time, like silver ones, because they’re rarer than gold. Mentioned in this blog post are some different types of coins and their value. When it comes to collecting coins, it is crucial to keep in mind some advice. For example, don’t focus on only one type of coin as they could become obsolete over time, and you would be wasting your money. It would be best to try to collect coins that have a sense of history behind them or ones minted at a certain period in time because those are the most valuable ones for collectors.

  2. We, a coffee company in the suburbs of Beverly Hills lost $2.3 million dollars to cryptocurrency investment scam recently. Two years ago when we first started depositing from our Coinbase wallet, we deposited 500,000 usdt and were told that it had reached 1.3 million usdt at which we wanted to withdraw but they asked for another 500,000 usdt for tax on accumulated funds with hope its all going to be added in our refunds. Little did we know that within one month this particular account was hacked and all our money was gone.We were scammed out of $2.3 million by a cryptocurrency investment scam and are very grateful to FASTFUNDSRECOVERY AT PROTONMAIL for helping us recover $1.3 million of our funds. We remain confident that we will have the remaining $1.9 million used by the fraudster in his outsourced wallet back soon, but are very happy with what they have achieved so far and thank them for their hard work.
