Set to be one of the standout sporting events of the summer, the 3ICE World Cup brings fast-paced, skill-led international hockey to the home of the Belfast Giants, offering fans a completely different way to experience the game.

If you’re wondering what 3ICE is, why it’s coming to Belfast, and how to get tickets, here’s everything you need to know.

What Is 3ICE?

3ICE is a professional ice hockey league built around the thrilling three-on-three format. Unlike traditional five-on-five hockey, 3ICE focuses on:

Speed
Skill
Creativity
Non-stop attacking play

Games consist of two eight-minute periods of continuous action, making every second count and keeping fans fully engaged from puck drop to final whistle.

Since launching in 2022, 3ICE has quickly gained global attention, partnering with major broadcasters including CBS, ESPN, TSN, FanDuel Sports Network and NHL Network. The league has also attracted legendary NHL figures such as Ray Bourque, Larry Murphy and Ken Daneyko, underlining its credibility and worldwide appeal.

With three-on-three hockey widely expected to be introduced at the Winter Olympics from 2030, 3ICE is seen as the future of the sport.

What Is the 3ICE World Cup?

The 3ICE World Cup is the league’s most ambitious international expansion to date. Taking place over two days, this eight-team international tournament will see national sides battle it out for global bragging rights — right here in Belfast.
