Great to see another jazz club open its doors in Belfast tonight (Oct 5).
Jaxx Jazz Club in Fountain Street invited 100 guests to a private gig to enjoy a night of jazz featuring the legendary Derry saxophonist and clarinettist Gay McIntyre and young trumpet tyro Rick Swann.
The club opens to the general public on October 12 and every Saturday night will showcase established jazz artists as well as up-and-coming talent from across Ireland and beyond.
With the return of the popular Dana Masters Saturday afternoon gigs at McHugh’s Bar on October 12 at the new time of 3pm, monthly jazz suppers at the Canteen at the Mac theatre, the Saturday jazz club at the Treehouse and the nightly music at Berts Jazz Bar, Belfast is developing a really lively jazz scene .
