First published in 2010, Zog has gone on to win more than just the hearts of children across the country, also winning Galaxy National Children’s Book of the Year Award. It has since gone on to become a perennial bestseller, and now the half-hour animation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved Zog will premiere on Christmas Day at 4:50pm. Including a star-studded voice cast featuring Lenny Henry and Game of Throne’s Kit Harrington, Zog promises to be roaring fun for all ages.
Off the back of the animation premiere, Waterfront Hall are delighted to bring the premiere stage adaptation of Zog to Belfast next May, playing from 28th – 30th June 2019.
Large in size, and keen in nature, Zog is so eager to win a golden star at Madam Dragon’s school, where dragons learn all the things that dragons need to know. Zog tries so very hard, perhaps too hard, and he bumps, burns and roars his way through years one, two and three. Luckily, the plucky Princess Pearl patches him up ready to face his biggest challenge yet…a duel with a knight, Sir Gadabout the Great!
Julia Donaldson commented: “I’m tremendously excited that Zog will be taking flight around the UK in this first ever stage production. Going to the theatre can be a truly magical experience, I know it will be such a thrill to see the world of Zog being brought to life on stage.”
Tickets for Zog are now on sale and can be bought at the Box Office located at the Ulster Hall, or online at Waterfront Hall website.
Ticket prices start at £12.50 (all tickets subject to admin fee.)
