Get ready for a spellbinding adventure as the most fantasmagorical musical of all time, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, soars into the Grand Opera House Belfast engagement from Friday, 26th July to Saturday, 3rd August 2024. And guess what? We have two tickets to give away to one lucky winner! (SEE BELOW)
This much-loved family favorite stars Adam Garcia (Wicked, Kiss Me Kate, Coyote Ugly) as the whimsical inventor Caractacus Potts, Liam Fox (Emmerdale) as the eccentric Grandpa Potts, and Charlie Brooks (The Ocean at the End of the Lane, EastEnders) as the sinister Child Catcher. With direction by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade), choreography by Karen Bruce (BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, The Bodyguard), and stunning design by Morgan Large (Newsies, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), this award-winning production promises to be a visual and musical delight.
What to Expect
Based on Ian Fleming’s timeless story for children, which was later adapted into the beloved 1968 film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang follows the adventures of Caractacus Potts and his children, Jemima and Jeremy. After restoring a broken-down old racing car, they discover it has magical powers. Alongside the charming Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts, they embark on a heart-warming journey to far-off lands filled with fun and excitement.
The show is brimming with unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers, including “Toot Sweets,” “Hushabye Mountain,” “Truly Scrumptious,” and the iconic “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” This musical is guaranteed to be a hit for all ages, making it a perfect outing for families this summer.
