Over eighty people from across the tourism industry attended today’s Tourism NI masterclass at W5 in Belfast aimed at helping businesses to maximise sponsorship revenue. Delivered in partnership with the Ulster University Business School, the masterclass focused on developing a sponsorship strategy, from concept to evaluation, as well as securing and maintaining sponsorship and strengthening relationships.
The event also considered why sponsors get involved in the first place; what success looks like and how to handle key issues such as return on investment and measuring results.

Tourism NI board member Geoff Wilson, who facilitated the event, said;
“Sponsorship is a vital part of the revenue mix for all events, large or small, and with budget conscious clients, businesses need to demonstrate an even greater understanding of a sponsor’s objectives as well as how to use that sponsorship more effectively. Moreover, the success of the Irish Open and the Giro has proven our ability to stage world class events and so with that has come a requirement for even more sophisticated sponsorship packages that will appeal to the big brands”.
