Titanic discoverer Dr. Robert Ballard returns to Titanic Belfast
Dr Robert Ballard, the legendary Ocean Explorer who discovered the wreck of RMS Titanic, will return to Titanic Belfast on March 20.

The former US Navy Officer, who brought the world’s fascinating search for RMS Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean to a successful conclusion on September 1 1985, will take part in a number of engagements at Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction, including a public lecture and a unique ‘Evening With Dr Ballard’ White Star Line dining experience in the venue’s spectacular Titanic suite.

While he continues to explore the oceans and make new discoveries as captain of the vessel Nautilus, Dr. Ballard will reflect on the moment that has largely defined his career and life – when Titanic’s bow first came into view.
Dr Ballard said: “I’m excited about returning to Titanic Belfast and to the birthplace of the great liner in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I had a wonderful time there in 2012 and I am looking forward to taking part in lectures and events on this occasion, and to seeing how this wonderful tribute to Titanic has developed since opening in the 100th anniversary year of her maiden voyage.”

Titanic Belfast CEO Tim Husbands MBE, said he’s delighted Dr. Ballard, who last visited the visitor attraction during the 100th anniversary of Titanic’s tragic sinking in April 2012.

Mr. Husbands added: “It’s a real pleasure to have Dr. Robert Ballard return once again to Titanic Belfast. We are very excited about his visit and the opportunity the visit brings for the public to hear firsthand about the discovery of the world’s most famous, yet ill-fated liner. ”
During his 2012 visit to Titanic Belfast, Dr Ballard said: “Titanic belongs to Belfast”.
