Belfast’s tribute to the legendary Thin Lizzy are set to blast out a set of some of the most iconic songs performed by Phil Lynott and his band at the Black Box on Sunday, July 1st.

Tinn Lizzy will be playing the full ‘Live & Dangerous’ album, as well as fan favourites like the show-stopper ‘Black Rose’ as part of the Belfast City Blues Festival.

Formed 10-years ago Tinn Lizzy are conscious of the connection between Belfast and the blues for the Dublin band with Eric Bell and Gary Moore having been members of Lizzy.

The four-piece brings all the passion and power you would expect, with Johnny ‘The Fox Conlan’s vocals receiving the highest praise you can get, said guitarist Ian ‘Speedo’ Wilson.

“Philomena Lynott said that Johnny’s voice was the closest that she ever heard to Phil’s,” he said.

And, Tinn Lizzy’s origins were as part of a fundraising effort for Lynott.

“We began a decade ago to help raise funds for the Philip Lynott Statue in the heart of Dublin,” Ian said. “I think we raised a fair bit…and maybe paid for a finger at least!”

Tinn Lizzy’s tribute joins with the now legendary ‘A Taste Of Rory’ at Belfast City Blues Festival. The homage to Rory Gallagher on Saturday, June 30th at the Black Box, featuring The Pat McManus Band, the Willie Byrne Band and Blackwood.

The festival which is celebrating its tenth year with 60 gigs across 22 venues from June 29 to July 2 has once again been sponsored by American Holidays in partnership with Brand USA, as well as United Airlines and Belfast City Council.
