Review: The Other Place, Botanic Avenue Belfast

If you’re looking to fill your stomach without emptying your wallet, you may want to call in to The Other Place.

Located on the vibrant Botanic Avenue, The Other Place is a family style restaurant that offers an instantly welcoming environment, with a bright concept and friendly staff. The neat decor includes antique telephones and sewing machines, instruments, and thought-provoking phrases to ponder while you eat. (What if the Hokey Cokey really IS what it’s all about?)

On the front of the menu you’ll see the motto “Always the best, cooked from fresh!” The Other Place serves fresh food cooked to order. And with speedy service, you won’t be waiting long before you’re enjoying your meal. You can, of course, take advantage of the free WiFi to pass the few minutes if you wish.

Ulster Fry The Other Place

The menu is vast and very reasonably priced. There’s all day breakfast from as little as £2.95. The Other Place is also “famous for fry’s”. The Top Mega Fry includes all the fixings for £8.95. Lunch options include build-your-own sandwich or wrap for £4.95, which includes a bowl of soup or skinny fries. From burgers to fish and chips, pasta to steak, and everything in between, there’s certainly plenty of choices.

The Filled Pita Pocket was not only full, it was overflowing with a delicious Cajun chicken filling. The £8.95 price tag includes a fresh salad, coleslaw and a choice of side. And if you have room after devouring the generously-sized portions of your main dish, there’s a decadent dessert menu to top off your meal.

Follow The Other Place on Facebook for all the latest deals and daily specials, including £7.95 Thursday Steak Night and a two-course Sunday Roast for £9.95. You can also join the Monthly Coffee Club for £14.95, which gets you a coffee of your choice every day for a month.

One thing’s for sure, neither your stomach or your wallet will be empty after a visit to The Other Place Botanic.
