Gerard Grant from Newtoncunnigham and Finvola Lyons from Carrickafoden (Carndonagh) are the lucky recipients of tickets to Tennent’s Vital complete with an overnight stay in the boutique Ten Square Hotel, Belfast.

The well known music festival, one of the largest in Ireland this year takes place at the end of August in Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields.

The lucky winners won these fabulous trips for two through a recent competition that Tennent’s ran on Highland Radio’s drive time show presented by Lee Gooch.  Each daily winner fought off stiff competition by being selected from a draw of those who had texted in correctly identifying which of their idol’s songs had been scrambled.

From the week-long competition Gerard and Finvola were picked as the overall winners after qualifying as daily contestants who had texting in, correctly identifying the artists’ songs that had been played backwards.

Gerard has won tickets to see The Killers, who headline the Thursday 21st August gig.  His aim was to win the prize for his daughter, Karen, for her recent 21st birthday.  As a huge fan of The Killers, Karen Grant, a nursing student, is looking forward to seeing them bring the bright lights of Vegas to Belfast in her first trip to the local music festival this August, saying; “My boyfriend and I are really looking forward to joining tens of thousands of fellow music fans to experience Tennent’s Vital.  I’ve heard the atmosphere is amazing.   I’ve been lucky to have seen The Killers perform live once before in London and they were incredible, so I am really looking forward to seeing them again… and as an added bonus their special guests this August will be Bastille, who are also favourites of mine!”

On Sunday 24th August, globally renowned French DJ David Guetta will be joined by fellow dance music icon Steve Angello at Tennent’s Vital, where together they’ll be bringing the atmosphere of some of the world’s biggest superclubs to Belfast.  Finvola, a receptionist at the Redcastle Hotel, is delighted to have won tickets to this event; “I’ve always loved David Guetta’s music but never had the chance to see him live in action so this is fabulous to win the tickets to my first Tennent’s Vital event, complete with the fabulous night in a boutique hotel in Belfast! I imagine it will be an unforgettable night.”
