A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the death of a 61-year-old man in Dungannon, County Tyrone.

The teenager is also facing two counts of attempted murder and a charge of making threats to kill in connection with the same incident.

The man was found dead at a property on Lisnahull Road on Saturday morning. His eight-year-old daughter was discovered injured at the scene.

The man’s 48-year-old wife was also injured during the incident. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The accused is expected to appear before Omagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

As legal proceedings are now active, readers are reminded that the defendant is entitled to a fair trial and nothing should be published that could prejudice the case.
