Tayto Cuts Corners by Creating Crumb-Saving Corner-less Bags

How many times have you showered yourself with crumbs, trying to get the last little bits from the bottom of your bag of crisps?  Or are you a wet finger merchant?

One of the many who lick their finger before delving it into the recesses, nooks and crannies, only to end up with a wet finger which then has to be wiped somewhere…. you’ll claim it’s on a clean tissue but in reality it could be your jeans, jumper, or worst of all…. the cushion.  Well you no longer have to have a fingernail full of flavour, all thanks to the clever people at Tayto who have literally decided to cut corners.

Say hello to the round bag.  Gone are the days of brushing hundreds of tiny bits off your chest and onto your sofa or car seat in the quest not to miss out on those extra-tasty little morsels that hide in the deepest, darkest corners of a bag of Tayto Cheese & Onion, because now there are no corners.  Bags that are as corner-less as a potato will be going into production from today, April 1st.   The well-rounded flavour of Northern Ireland’s favourite crisp will be matched by well-rounded bags.

Elly Hunter, marketing director for Tayto explains:  “As Northern Ireland’s number one crisp brand, we have been ‘a-round’ for more than 60 years and, throughout the decades, people have always struggled to get the last tasty crumbs that are stuck in the corners of bags.

“Innovation is at the heart of our business and our customers’ crumb issues are very important to us.  Creating the circular crisp bag is a first for the market and we hope that Tayto fans will appreciate this ground-breaking new corner-less, curvaceous pack ensuring that no-one puts Tayto in the corner!  Gone will be the frustration, the showers of crumbs and the wet fingers and everyone can enjoy the well-rounded flavour of our range, which will all be available in new, revolutionary round bags.”

Tayto’s new round bags are going into production today, 1 April 2017.
