Shed Bistro cook up a new love story for Valentine’s Day

South Belfast eatery, Shed Bistro is aiming to change the narrative around Valentines Day and encourage people to celebrate all the loves in their lives.

Restauranteurs, Christina and Jonny Taylor who run Shed Bistro on the Ormeau Road are playing Cupid and hosting a special opening on February fourteenth to allow the public, whether loved up or happily single, to embrace the day and spend quality time with loved ones, particularly friends and family. They are calling on those who enjoy dining out to use the opportunity to boost bromances, celebrate galentines’ or rekindle old friendships.

Christina, who is Owner and Front of House Manager at Shed Bistro said:

After the difficulties we have all faced over the last two years, and all the time spent apart, everyone needs to get back out and enjoy being with the people they love and have missed. So for Valentine’s this year, we say it’s not just for you and your significant other, your husband or wife, your boyfriend or girlfriend. Make it about your best mate, your sister, your old roommate, or a work colleague that you have only seen through a screen.

“We want to knock the narrative that Valentine’s is only for loved up couples, and see as many people out enjoying the occasion as possible. Of course there will still be plenty of romance and rosebuds on offer too, but as a reward for sharing the love even further this year we are giving a bottle of wine – on the house – to tables of four or more, booked with us on February 14.”

Hospitality has been one of the worst affected sectors since the introduction of Covid-19 restrictions, with trade coming to a halt for months at a time. Shed Bistro’s Valentine’s Day offering last year was limited to Heat at Home kits, so the team are eager to welcome guests back in-house again. Christina continued:

We are really excited about Valentine’s Day this year – so much so that we are opening the restaurant on a Monday for the first time. Creating decadent dining experiences and enjoyable evenings is what we do best, and it has been too long since we were able to do it at full tilt. We’re ready to spread the love and spoil all those that join us this time, making it a night to remember for everyone.”
