Conway Returns As Belfast Giants Secure Major Boost For 2026/27
The Belfast Giants have confirmed a huge piece of business ahead of the new Elite League campaign, with fan favourite Scott Conway returning for the 2026/27 season.
The 31-year-old forward will enter his fifth season in teal after becoming one of the most influential and consistent players in recent Giants history.
Since first arriving in Belfast back in 2021, Conway has established himself as one of the Elite League’s standout offensive talents, racking up more than 345 points across all competitions while helping the Giants deliver silverware and memorable nights at The SSE Arena.
Last season, Conway once again played a key role as part of Belfast’s leadership group, wearing an alternate captain’s ‘A’ and forming one of the league’s most dangerous attacking lines alongside David Goodwin and J.J. Piccinich.
Head Coach Adam Keefe described Conway as “an out and out winner” and praised both his impact on and off the ice since joining the organisation.
Keefe also highlighted the importance of retaining the core attacking trio heading into the new season, suggesting the Giants are building from a position of strength as they prepare to defend their Elite League crown and challenge for more trophies.
Born in Basingstoke, Conway enjoyed an impressive college hockey career in the NCAA with Penn State and Providence College before turning professional in North America. His journey also included spells in the AHL with the Providence Bruins and time in the ECHL before making the move to Belfast.
Giants fans will also remember Conway being part of the famous treble-winning squad before a season abroad in Slovakia with HK Dukla Trenčín. After impressing overseas, his return to Belfast proved another major success, adding over 125 points in 144 appearances since rejoining the club.
Speaking after confirming his return, Conway admitted there is unfinished business ahead.
Despite retaining the Elite League title last season, the Giants fell short in their pursuit of a clean sweep of trophies — something Conway says continues to drive both himself and the dressing room heading into the new campaign.
From a Belfast Giants perspective, this feels like one of the most important re-signings of the summer so far.
Conway is more than just a goalscorer — he understands the culture of the club, embraces the expectations that come with playing in Belfast, and has become one of the faces of the franchise during one of the most successful eras in Giants history.
Keeping experienced leaders and proven point producers together gives the Giants stability at a time when many Elite League teams will once again undergo major rebuilds over the summer.
For supporters, it is another exciting sign that the Giants are not simply aiming to compete next season — they are aiming to dominate.
Season tickets for the 2026/27 campaign are available now for a limited time through Belfast Giants Official Tickets.
