Park Avenue Hotel will host a special Royal Wedding Party on May 19th to celebrate the exclusive Marco Pierre White Wedding offering

It’s one of the most important dates in the Royal diary, and one Belfast hotel is celebrating The Royal Wedding on 19 May like no other.

The Park Avenue Hotel, one of Belfast’s most established hotels and wedding destinations, will hold an exclusive wedding party to celebrate the Royal nuptials between HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle, hosted by UTV’s Julian Simmons next week/this week.

The Hotel, situated in East Belfast has been part of the special day of many couples for the past 60+ years, and will be pulling out all the stops for The Big Day by transforming the Cranethorpe Suite into a beautiful wedding venue to watch Prince Harry and Meghan say, “I do”.

Wedding décor specialists, Sara B will be decorating the venue while guests can enjoy the build-up, ceremony and all the post-nuptial pomp of the day on a huge 15ft screen. Guests will also enjoy a glass of bubbles to toast the happy couple, followed by a two-course lunch after the ceremony and entertainment from the Victory Rollers into the evening.

Julian has been the local voice of Royal Weddings since the 1980s when he was UTV’s continuity announcer on the day of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s vows in 1981.

The UTV presenter commented; “I have had the pleasure of hosting all the Royal Weddings on our screens since the 1980s, and I am so excited to see this latest generation of Royals walk down the aisle. The celebration at the Park Avenue on the 19th will be fantastic and full of Royal splendour!”

Mandy Patrick, Managing Director at the Park Avenue Hotel said; “We have had the pleasure of hosting so many wonderful couples on their special day since the hotel opened in 1956. We are delighted to be providing an exciting wedding day for guests to come and experience the full wedding treatment and celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan’s big day.”

Feeling the wedding fever, couples who married and celebrated at the Park Avenue have been sharing their wedding photographs on Facebook, with over 200 memories coming in from 1957196719701987 and the 1990s, right up to the present day.

Mandy continued; “We have invited Nadine Houston and her family to enjoy a VIP visit to our party. Nadine’s parents got married with us 28 years ago on 27th April 1990 in the famous Cambridge Rooms. Nadine has a special relationship with the hotel as her family celebrated her Christening here and she even had her first date with her husband here too! That’s what we’re all about at the Park Avenue Hotel; family and making memories.”

The event comes as Park Avenue Hotel launches White Weddings, an extension of the Marco Pierre White brand in Northern Ireland bringing an exclusive wedding day experience to couples looking for something different.

Mandy added; “White Weddings by Marco Pierre White is a response to the demand for ‘something a bit different’ that couples are looking for on their wedding day. Traditional receptions, while still popular, are being challenged by more intimate, modern and unique ways to celebrate. White Weddings will provide an electric atmosphere with some of the best dishes in town to wow guests.”

The legendary Marco Pierre White steaks will be on the White Weddings menu, sourced from local producers, with other options including lamb and vegetarian dishes that have recently been revamped on the summer 2018 menu.

Mandy finished; “We’re also working with some of Northern Ireland’s top wedding specialists and suppliers to provide the finishing touches for a true MPW experience. We will be showcasing White Weddings on Sunday 12 August for couples to get a first look at what their White Wedding could be like at Park Avenue Hotel.”

The Park Avenue Hotel Royal Wedding Party begins at 10:30am on Saturday 19th May, continuing until 5pm.
