Alongside his celebrated dance partner, Flavia Cacace, Simone has garnered acclaim for their mastery in Ballroom, Latin, and particularly, Argentinian Tango, which they previously showcased on the beloved dance competition series.
Vincent’s latest offering transports us to a quintessential Argentine dance hall, embodying every trope from the era’s fashion to the slicked-back hair, creating an ambiance ripe with anticipation and allure. The narrative delves into the rich history of the Tango, as the production unravels the dance’s storied past, all while highlighting Simone’s fervent devotion to this expressive and passionate art form. The opening scene, marked by the resonant echo of a heartbeat, sets the stage for a mesmerizing tango performance that is both authentic and captivating.
Despite the unforeseen absence of Paula Duarte due to injury, the proverbial curtain never faltered. Victoria Martin, a local talent from Belfast, stepped into the limelight alongside Simone, delivering a performance that was nothing short of stellar, later adding a layer of intrigue upon discovering her own remarkable journey.
The evening’s entertainment was further enhanced by the addition of a talented young female violinist and vocalist, whose name eluded me, but whose performance left an indelible mark.
