This is far from your average nine to five job. No two days will be the same in this exciting role, which will include everything from hosting whiskey tastings, to engaging with bartenders and conducting an Irish whiskey mentoring programme.
The package will include an attractive salary, company car and other benefits. The successful candidate will also receive in-depth training at Midleton Distillery in Co. Cork – the home of Powers Irish Whiskey.
Powers’ long-standing reputation for excellence and innovation has placed it at the forefront of Irish whiskey, leading the way for 200 years. Founded in 1791, John Power and Son began bottling their own whiskey in 1866, which was unheard of before in Ireland, as it was usually sold by the cask. Historically, a gold label was entrusted on the bottle to signify premium quality and to guarantee it had come directly from the Powers distillery. And so the Gold Label story began and the indubitable name earned to Powers by loyal customers.
With an extensive portfolio of over 20 premium Irish whiskeys, including Powers, Jameson, Midleton and Redbreast, Dillon Bass is the largest supplier and distributor of Irish whiskey in Northern Ireland.
Sarah Harvey, Powers Brand Manager at Dillon Bass said:
“Powers is regarded as the pinnacle of Irish whiskey and has maintained this reputation for over 200 years. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to turn their passion for Irish whiskey into a full time career within a company that’s at the heart of driving the growth of the Irish whiskey category in Northern Ireland.”
Hospitality Ulster, the representative body for the hospitality industry in Northern Ireland has put its support behind the recruitment campaign.
Commenting at the launch, Joel Neill, Operations Director, Hospitality Ulster said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for hospitality. Irish whiskey is an important part of our culture and heritage and is a key driver for tourism to Northern Ireland. This new role – created by Dillon Bass – is a testament to the growing popularity of Irish whiskey both at home and abroad and for the right person, this will be a dream job.”
