Now Press Play – A Belfast Festival of Music on Film returns to venues across Belfast from 7-11 October.

Now in its fourth year, Now Press Play celebrates the synergy of music and film in all its weird and wonderful manifestations.

Including Haircut 100: Take That Situation (and put it right), Can – The Documentary, The Sounds of David Lynch, Harry Nilsson – ‘The Point!’, Sisters With Transistors, Big Mama Thornton – I Can’t Be Anybody But Me, Ireland: A Nation’s Memory, Hail The New Puritan, Carole King: Home Again, Bul Quo!, Alice Coltrane: Black Journal/ Jazz is Our Religion – Double Bill, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid – and ending with the underrated Prince banger Under the Cherry Moon.

Now Press Play programmer Joe Nawaz said: “We’re delighted to ‘Press Play’ again on some of our very favourite music-related films. We think it’s a really nice blend of the old and the new, the off beat, the profound and the absurdly entertaining.
“We’re particularly looking forward to some of our special events such as our celebration of ‘The Sounds of David Lynch’ – but one thing these events all have in common is their love of music and sound in all its myriad and messy ways. And we can’t wait for audiences to enjoy the Now Press Play experience.”
Hugh Odling Smee of sponsors Film Hub NI said: “Film Hub NI are proud to continue to support Now Press Play in its fourth year. CQAF are delivering brilliant programmes reflecting the excitement and diversity from the world of music documentary. We’re delighted to see so many NI Premieres in the mix this year, proving that Now Press Play is bringing the cream of music docs to Belfast audiences.”
Now Press Play is generously supported by Film Hub NI.
