Sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding.  Repeat, at least once a week. Forever.

In an age of convenience, where time is an increasingly scarce commodity, it is amazing to think that so many people still devote hours of their week to doing the laundry.  And then there’s the associated drudgery of regular round trips to the dry cleaners to get your suits and dresses cleaned. Just think of what else you could be doing with all that wasted time!

Well Ninjadry is trying to change that in Belfast, and it’s catching.  The online laundry and dry cleaner started trading in late 2017, and it has seen double digit growth month on month since then.  Ninjadry, the only business of its kind in Belfast, operates online only, with its Ninjadrivers crisscrossing the city every evening, seven days a week, collecting and delivering laundry and dry cleaning to the citizens of Belfast and North Down.

“We are all about total convenience and total quality” says Belfast entrepreneur and Ninjadry managing director Louise Houliston.  “We saw a gap in the market to bring the local industry into the digital age. None of the existing players had any serious online offering, so we are filling that need, and then some.”

That convenience and quality starts with placing an order.  You simply go to ninjadry.com, pick what you want, create an account, and place your order, all within seconds.  Your clothes get collected that evening from your door, and cleaned and returned within 48 hours.

“Our customers now spend a few minutes every week doing their laundry and dry cleaning: a minute or two placing an order and filling their Ninja bag for collection, and on delivery a minute or two putting their freshly cleaned clothes back in their wardrobes and drawers!” says Louise.

“It is early days for Northern Ireland, but from our extensive research of what’s happening in other cities around the world, it will definitely become much more common here to outsource your laundry and dry cleaning in the future.  We have found that once someone uses our service, there is a high probability that they will become a regular customer. We have an 80% retention rate. But we are acutely conscious of the need to maintain and always improve on our excellent quality and five star customer service standards, to ensure we keep our customers coming back.”

Ninjadry’s glowing customer feedback demonstrates that it’s on the right path to becoming a local cult status brand:
