Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce today welcomed Paul McMahon as the newly elected Chamber President.
Paul is the Centre Director of Belfast’s Castle Court and has carried out the role as Vice President of the Chamber over the past two years.
He replaces outgoing president Joe Jordan who served for two consecutive terms.
Speaking after his election Mr McMahon said: “I feel very proud and privileged to have been elected as President today, and I pledge to work to promote the city and represent the members of the chamber to the best of my ability.”
Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce was established to promote trade and commerce in the city, and 100 years on the Chamber continues to be a voice for trade and industry in Belfast.
“We have members representing many business sectors including retail, hospitality, food, property, professional services, finance, media, entertainment and transport.
He concluded, “The Chamber is unashamed by its focus on Belfast. We have a long established relationship with all key stakeholders in the city and with our local government; we will continue to work alongside our strategic partners to enhance the business environment and the physical regeneration of the city.”
The new president will be supported by the senior council elected unanimously, including: Hugh Black, Victoria Square, Michelle Jackson, House of Fraser and Gordon McElroy, MKB Russell Solicitors.
