Two local women have been chosen to star in the brand new M&S Christmas food TV campaign aimed at reaching more customers than in any previous Christmas.
Angela Campbell and Danielle Tweedie, both colleagues in the M&S Lisburn store at Sprucefield Shopping Complex, appear in a 30 second version of the ad which will hit our TV screens this week.
In a first for M&S, the campaign sees M&S Food brought to life in a new and original way – through customer and colleagues’ own words. Marking the first time M&S has launched an unscripted ad, the Christmas food TV campaign puts colleagues and customers at the centre.
M&S travelled the length and breadth of the UK to find real people to star in the campaign and talk about their M&S food favourites and why they make Christmas extra special. Angela and Danielle travelled to London to audition for a part in the TV ad and were thrilled to be chosen as two of the stars.
The ads encourage the nation to join the conversation and share their Christmas food favourites using the hashtag #MyMarksFave. In total, the ad series features over 60 customers and colleagues.
Angela, a Customer Assistant in the Beauty Department at the M&S Lisburn store, has only been working for M&S for a year so was delighted to be chosen to appear in the ad. She commented: “I felt very privileged to have the opportunity to travel to London and appear in the Christmas ad to share #MyMarksFave with the nation – The Collection Belgian Chocolate and Hazelnut Mirror Glaze Cake. I have truly never tasted anything like it!”
Danielle is a Womenswear Section Co-ordinator in M&S Lisburn and loves working with customers to make them feel special. She said: “I have worked in retail since I was 17 and get so much satisfaction from knowing I have made a difference to our customers. I’m really looking forward to Christmas Day when I get to enjoy #MyMarksFave, our delicious Pembrokeshire Free Range Turkey – it just melts in your mouth!”
