For THE tenth dazzling year in succession the great big beautiful world is
set to descend on Belfast’s Botanic Gardens Belfast as the city revels in
its annual Belfast Mela.
On the afternoon of Sunday 28th August the park will be transformed into an
exotic festival of global identities; a showcase of the culture cuisine of a
wealth of nations.
The programme launch for what promises to be the most ambitious Mela
Festival yet took place in the Palm House in Botanic… where the very first
Mela took place ten years ago.
Amongst the world music acts featured on the main stage will be Raghu Dixit,
hailed as Indian’s biggest cultural and music export; the high energy Zulu
Tradition; Balkan Alien Sound, blending gypsy, Klezmer and Balkan music and
