How Glentoran Secured Their Place
Glentoran progressed to the final following a hard-fought 2–1 extra-time win over Coleraine FC in an entertaining semi-final encounter.
After a lively opening, the Glens took the lead late in the first half when Pat Hoban reacted quickest from a corner to give the hosts the advantage at the break. Coleraine responded positively after the restart and drew level through a moment of individual brilliance from Joel Cooper, who drove into the area before firing a left-footed strike high into the net.
With the sides unable to be separated in normal time, extra time was required. Glentoran struck early in the additional period as Jordan Jenkins followed up a saved effort to fire home the rebound and send his side through to a second consecutive BetMcLean Cup final.
Focus Shifts to the Final
With the opposition now confirmed, Linfield’s full attention turns to preparations for the decider at Windsor Park. The BetMcLean Cup final presents another opportunity for the Blues to add to their honours list and deliver on the big occasion in front of their supporters.
