Northern Ireland’s most impactful digital technology conference has teamed up with Aer Lingus to announce the launch of Digital DNA 2015.

Taking place in October & November, Digital DNA is a series of events that promotes the benefits of technology to businesses in Northern Ireland with the aim of helping them grow locally and internationally.

Aer Lingus will partner the programme of events including Digital Business in Titanic Belfast on October 15th, where some of the world’s great digital thinkers from companies like Google, Twitter and Atlas will join forces with local success stories like STATSports, Budget Energy and Chain Reaction Cycles to offer business owners advice on how embracing digital technology can increase customers, drive sales and cut costs.

From a simple social media workshop to embracing e-commerce and advice on harnessing data, the events offer a wide range of activities aimed at equipping local businesses for growth.

The programme also includes Digital Futures, held in Belfast City Hall on October 14th. Digital Futures is an initiative aimed at unearthing the next generation of digital entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland. Following six weeks of roadshows engaging with thousands of young people, the event will feature a competition where secondary school pupils will be tasked with using technology to solve a problem currently faced by businesses or consumers.

The winning teams will attend Digital Business the following day, before jetting to San Fransisco’s Silicon Valley to visit Stanford University and Google’s headquarters and London for a trip to Microsoft later in the year, courtesy of Aer Lingus.

Speaking at the launch, Digital DNA Managing Director Gareth Quinn said: “Now in its third year, Digital DNA features breakout sessions, Main Stage keynotes from the world’s great technology leaders, case studies from local success stories and networking opportunities to help local businesses embrace digital technology for growth.

“Aer Lingus is a hugely successful company that not only shares our desire to help businesses grow through their regional and transatlantic connections but they also share our ambitions for Digital DNA in 2015 and will help us take our first steps to internationalising the events in 2016. It’s great to have them onboard.”

Andrea Hunter, Business Development Manager for Aer Lingus in Northern Ireland added: “We are delighted to partner with Digital DNA to sponsor their Digital Futures programme.

“Investing in our young people is vital to the future of Northern Ireland and we are privileged to be able to inspire them through their visits to Silicon Valley, Stanford University and Facebook’s London HQ about the countless opportunities available to them in their working lives.”

Digital DNA takes place in October and November 2015, kicking off with the Digital Futures event on October 14th in Belfast City Hall. The programme of events also includes Digital Business & Digital Social on October 15 and Digital Tourism on November 12.
