Having completed a run of rapturously received and emotionally charged stadium and arena shows across Ireland last weekend, Kingfishr have now announced even bigger plans for 2027.
The trio will headline Belfast’s Belsonic festival before taking to the stage for huge outdoor headline shows in Dublin and Limerick. Combined, the three concerts are expected to attract audiences of more than 90,000 people.
The new dates are further proof that Kingfishr’s remarkable rise shows no signs of slowing down.
Their smash hit single Killeagh became a cultural phenomenon, spending 17 weeks at Number One in Ireland, while their debut album Halcyon also topped the Irish charts. Their current single, The Sun Will Never Settle, has already spent two weeks at Number One.
Their success has also translated strongly in the UK, where Halcyon reached Number Seven in the charts, while their recent headline tour sold more than 60,000 tickets, including two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
While their streaming growth continues to accelerate, much of Kingfishr’s reputation has been built through the electrifying energy, community spirit and passion of their live performances.
Reviewing their recent St Anne’s Park show, Hot Press wrote:
“Attendees in their thousands link arms, jive and sing along to the anthem, indifferent to the bucketing rain, which for me eclipses any statistic in terms of a gauge in resonance.”
Frontman Eddie Keogh said:
“Before we started the band, we had been to many of the venues we played last week to see our favourite artists play – Mumford & Sons, Paolo Nutini and The Killers being the ones that spring to mind.
Being on those stages was nothing short of an out-of-body experience. The support we felt every night was something we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
We want to do it again, but bigger. So that’s what we’re doing.”
