Fresh on the back of the Irish Open announcements, a bespoke golf exhibition – Irish Golf Expo – has been announced for 20th and 21st September 2014 at the King’s Hall, Belfast.

With 190,000 registered golf club members in Ireland and 1 in 30 of the total population playing golf, the Irish Golf Expo is designed to provide a truly interactive experience.

The event will feature a 22 bay indoor driving range, putting and short game areas, club and ball fitting, golf simulators, gadgets, Apps and accessories. The 5,000sqm exhibition space will also include an outdoor kids’ golf area, onsite golf store, golf holiday and travel destination information and interactive workshops from Ireland’s leading golf experts.

As part of the official launch on 8th April 2014, European Tour golfer Gareth Maybin, former Walker Cup player and professional Paul Cutler, and Irish Amateur Champion Robbie Cannon, took part in a ‘Titanic Challenge’ – aiming to drive a ball the length of the famous slipway, a 305yards drive in swirling winds.

Stewart Kyle, Director at Hawkeye Management said, ‘We are delighted to bring the Irish Golf Expo to Ireland. We are trying to increase interest and participation in golf throughout Ireland especially at grass root levels and the feedback since coming to market from customers, suppliers, professionals and potential sponsors has been extremely positive. We have worked hard to ensure the experience will be an interactive one for all our customers.’
