A group of 15 influential international journalists with an interest in the TV and film industry recently took a four day trip to visit local screen locations and experience more of what Northern Ireland has to offer.
Tourism NI designed and delivered their itinerary with one of the highlights of the visit a meeting with Belfast’s punk legend and music aficionado, Terri Hooley, who was the inspiration for the blockbuster biographical film “Good Vibrations”.
The high profile group from UK, Europe, Asia and the USA explored Belfast to view famous city landmarks featured in the TV series The Fall and the Good Vibrations film, and visited Titanic Quarter attractions before setting off along the Causeway Coastal route to stop at various Game of Thrones film locations.
They also travelled to County Down to explore the area where the 2012 Oscar winning film, The Shore was shot and visited more locations where Game of Thrones, Dracula Untold, Robert Overlords and Your Highness were filmed.
Aileen O’Neill, Tourism NI Media Visits Co-ordination, said, “As a result of the film and TV shows being produced here, location Northern Ireland is becoming a star in its own right.
Visits such as these are extremely important as they present a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the great screen tourism visitor experiences that we have on offer to such a prestigious group of media”.
