The 13th Annual Heart of Peninsula Care Awards, one of Northern Ireland’s leading celebrations of excellence in health and social care, took place recently at The La Mon Hotel and Country Club. Hosted by UTV and U105 presenter Frank Mitchell and organised by Peninsula Care Services, the prestigious awards recognised the dedication, professionalism and compassion demonstrated by individuals and organisations across the care sector.

Jonny Cook, Director of Peninsula Care Services, said: “The Heart of Peninsula Care Awards are all about recognising the incredible people who go above and beyond every day to support some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. We had over 300 entries and the judging process was tough, but our exceptional winners were well deserved, especially the winner of the coveted Overall Heart of Peninsula Care Award, Crystal Jones.” This esteemed award was sponsored by AC Rentaplant and Crystal also walked away with a £250 cash prize. Crystal was shocked when she was unveiled as the overall winner. She says;

“I was nominated for the client choice award, but I was not sure I would win as it was my first time to be nominated. I decided to attend the awards, just so I could see what happens at the award night. Winning the client choice awards made me so overwhelmed with excitement that I began to enjoy celebrating with my sister Michelle who had accompanied me to the awards. When the Master of Ceremonies started announcing the qualities that had been recognised for the winner of the Overall Heart of Peninsula category, I told myself that I could never qualify for this award. When I heard my name, I was shocked and in disbelief and cried with joy looking at my bosses cheering me and it made me shed even more tears of joy. Being with the Company for nearly three years, I never thought I would have the privilege of winning the special award, I feel very honoured.”
