Ulster Bank supports significant bar and restaurant development in North Down

The owners of the popular Pier36 bar and restaurant in Donaghadee are investing over £750,000 in the redevelopment of a second establishment in the North Down town, with the support of Ulster Bank.

Peach Enterprises Ltd is creating 32 new jobs with the opening of Harbour & Company on The Parade, which includes a 70-seat restaurant upstairs and a state-of-the-art bar downstairs.

Owners the Waterworth Family have a long track-record in the hospitality sector in North Down, and purchased the premises – then called Ocean Drive – around 12 years ago, following the acquisition of Pier36.

Lewis Waterworth says that the investment has transformed a small local pub into a much larger, more modern food and drink offering.

“We have worked closely with Ulster Bank and Tennants NI to undertake what has been a major redevelopment and we’re delighted with the result. We’re creating 32 new full and part-time jobs with the opening of Harbour & Company, which comprises a woodfire kitchen and a bar and restaurant with a very contemporary feel. We have a real focus on great local food and we’re very confident it will be a long-term success,” he adds.

Ulster Bank Head of Belfast & North Down Business Centre, Tracey Morrow, says: “Ulster Bank has £1.5billion to lend to businesses this year and we are very pleased to support entrepreneurial people like the Waterworths to invest, create jobs, and build successful, sustainable businesses.”
