A bewitching Halloween awaits in Belfast and beyond, with scarily good fun for all the family — pumpkin patches, enchanted gardens, ghost trails and after-dark museum nights. Use this alongside our autumn 2026 things to do guide and What’s On Belfast for live dates.
Always check the organiser for tickets, age guidance and last entry.
W5 Halloween Family Night
Get ready for tricks, treats and Halloween mischief — W5 stays open after dark for a family night (listed around late October). Hands-on fun rather than jump-scares — ideal if you’ve done daytime W5 and want the Halloween edition. We’ve covered spooky W5 seasons before, including Monster Manor.
Halloween carvery — Sunday 25 October
A five-course feast with all the trimmings on Sunday 25 October 2026, with live music keeping the room going. Book early — Sunday Halloween lunches fill fast (same rule as our autumn Sunday roast tip).
Halloween at Montalto — Trail of Tiny Terrors
24–30 October 2026. Embark on the Trail of Tiny Terrors at Montalto Estate — something strange is happening in the gardens. A countryside half-term day out beyond the city ring.
Halloween at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens
24 October–1 November 2026. Gather little witches, wizards and adventurers for a spellbinding day out at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens — royal grounds with a Halloween twist for families.
Trek & Treat — alpaca trekking + bouncy castle
24–31 October 2026. An “alpaca-lypse” Halloween adventure through Ballyburren’s autumn landscape, with a bouncy castle for burning off sweet energy. Outdoor, animal-led and memorable for younger kids.
Halloween kids party at The Rabbit — 1 November
Half-term kids Halloween party at The Rabbit, 12pm–5.30pm on 1 November 2026. Easy diary marker for the end of the break.
Pumpkins, Paws & Claws — Whitehead Railway Museum
30–31 October 2026. A spooktacular Halloween at Whitehead Railway Museum — trains, pumpkins and paws. Pair with our museums round-up if you’re building a wider heritage day (Top 10 Museums includes Whitehead).
Spooky half term at The Rabbit
29 October–1 November 2026. Something spooky stirs at The Rabbit across half term for Little Rabbits — crafts, play and seasonal fun without needing a full road trip.
Little Monsters Halloween workshop at The MAC
Spooky seasonal fun at The MAC with artist Masako Carey — calling all ghosts, goblins and little monsters for a creative Halloween workshop in the Cathedral Quarter arts hub.
Halloween at Ulster Folk Museum
29–31 October 2026. Across three days the Folk Museum comes alive with mask-making, mumming, a murder mystery, crafts and more — immersive heritage Halloween rather than a theme-park scare. More on the Folk Museum in our museums guide.
Halloween Pumpkin Patch 2026 — The Ark Open Farm
Selected dates 10–31 October 2026 at The Ark Open Farm in Newtownards — the pumpkin patch returns for picking, photos and autumn farm fun east of Belfast.
Build your family Halloween weekend
Pick one outdoor trail (Montalto, Hillsborough or the pumpkin patch), one indoor hit (W5 or Ulster Folk Museum), and keep film screenings like Frankenweenie / Corpse Bride from our Scariest Things round-up for a softer cinema night.
