Demand just forced the hand. Fontaines D.C. now play two nights at Slane Castle — Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 2027 — and for Belfast and the North that means a proper Boyne weekend, not a single-shot scramble. Presales are live right now; general sale hits Thursday.
Northern Ireland has chased Fontaines from small rooms to festival fields. Next summer the destination is Slane — twice.
The band first locked in the Saturday after teasing “Slane 2027” on the screens at the end of their Electric Picnic headline set. Ticketmaster and the venue listing now show a second show the following evening. Promoter MCD. Both nights subject to licence.
Slane’s natural amphitheatre has a widely reported concert capacity of around 80,000. Multiple outlets — including the Irish Examiner and LMFM — note that Fontaines D.C. will be only the third Irish act to headline Slane, after Thin Lizzy (1981) and U2 (2001). That is the weight of the weekend for anyone driving south from Belfast, Derry or Newry.
Saturday 26 June special guests (announced with the first night): Hayley Williams (Paramore), Dublin songwriter Damien Dempsey, and rising Irish outfit Madra Salach, with further acts TBA. Sunday 27 June support is TBA — guests were named with the Saturday bill unless confirmed for both nights.
